Founder and Lead Therapist

DSC_0912.jpg

Joy Njumbi Gichohi is a Certified Counselling Psychologist, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) specialist, Mental Health Trainer, Speaker, and Founder of Love and Care Network. Widely known as The Psychospiritual Dr., she is recognized for her distinctive approach that integrates evidence-based psychology with biblical truth — helping individuals understand the harmony between scripture and psychological science.

With a strong foundation in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Njumbi has developed a refined niche in helping individuals reframe distorted thought patterns, heal emotional wounds, and build resilient mental frameworks rooted in both psychological principles and spiritual identity. Her work emphasizes that many core psychological concepts renewal of the mind, identity formation, emotional regulation, and behavioral transformation are deeply embedded within scripture.

Her psychospiritual approach bridges the gap between faith and mental health, offering clarity for individuals seeking healing without disconnecting from their Christian foundation. She is particularly passionate about helping clients uncover their God-given purpose through self-understanding, emotional awareness, and Christ-centered identity work.

While she is widely known for her psychospiritual integration work, her practice is not limited to faith-based therapy. She also provides pure, evidence-based psychotherapy grounded in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and other clinically sound approaches for individuals who prefer a strictly psychological framework. Her therapeutic space is inclusive and client-centered meaning faith is integrated only when desired by the client. Whether one seeks spiritually integrated therapy or a purely clinical, research driven approach, her commitment remains the same: to provide structured, ethical, and transformative mental health care tailored to each individual’s needs.

What distinguishes her work is her psychospiritual framework.

She helps individuals see that psychology does not contradict scripture rather, many psychological principles reflect biblical wisdom. Concepts such as renewing the mind, confronting distorted thinking, regulating emotion, building secure identity, and breaking maladaptive patterns are deeply embedded within scripture.

She is particularly committed to helping individuals heal shame, dismantle limiting beliefs, rebuild self-trust, and live in alignment with their divine calling.
